Otis Whitby, area farmer, succumbs at 81

   Otis Whitby passed away at his home, 10041 Grand River Drive, Route 3, 
Lowell, Monday morning, January 17, at the age of 85. He was a farmer in the 
Lowell area, all of his life.

   Mr. Whitby is survived by his wife, Hattie; one son, Robert; two 
daughters, Beulah Crankshaw of Saranac and Anna Krupp of Comstock Park; five 
grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a 
host of friends. 

   Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon January 19, at the Morris 
Funeral home in Saranac. The Rev. James Frank was the officiating clergyman 
and burial was made in Saranac Cemetery.
