Portland Observer, 16 Nov 1933

Frank Whitcomb, 72, died Tuesday morning at his farm home south of this village 
in Danby township following an illness of a number of months.  Funeral services 
were held at the late home this afternoon in charge of Rev. E. A. Waldeck, 
pastor of the Baptist church.  Burial was made in Portland cemetery.
	
Mr. Whitcomb was born on a farm west of Portland and had spent his entire 
lifetime in this community.  In 1908 he was married to Clara Miner, having been 
separated from a wife by a previous marriage.  He had been living on the farm 
where his death occurred for over 40 years.  The widow is the only surviving 
near relative.
