Gladys L. White, 67, of 6709 Potters Road, Saranac, died Monday at Butterworth 
Hospital in Grand Rapids. 

She was born November 15, 1915 in Barryton, the daughter of Floyd and Rowena 
Maye Dempsey Van Syckle.  She was married June 2, 1933 to Elwin White, who 
preceded her in death in September 1966.  She has been a resident of the 
Saranac area since 1956.

She is survived by four sons, Wayne White and Fred White, both of California, 
Ronald White and Leeman White, both of Saranac, four daughters, Elaine Young of 
California; Eula Lenneman of Lowell; Carol Brandt and Cheryl Cooper, both of 
Saranac; one brother, Dale Van Syckle of Harrison; one sister, Iola Cummings of 
Barryton; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Van Syckle of Barryton, 28 
grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Myers-Roetman Funeral Home, 
with Rev. Bruce White officiating.  Burial will be in Saranac Cemetery.  The 
family will be at the funeral home Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 7-9 to 
meet relatives and friends.
