Viola White, 67, of Belding, died Saturday, March 25, 1995, at Belding 
Christian Nursing home.

She was born April 22, 1927, in Pikesville, Ky., the daughter of George and 
Brooksie (Anderson) Thacker.  She was married Aug. 4, 1943, to Melvin White.

She is survived by her husband Melvin; two daughters, Carolyn Youmans of 
Belding and JoAnn (Patrick) Riley of Kissimmee, Fla.; four sons, Duane (Linda) 
Thacker of Belding, Darwin (Bettty) Thacker of Fenwick, Melbert (Pam) Thacker 
of Belding and Alfred (Shelly) Thacker of Stanton; 23 grandchildren and 23 
great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Lorraine Roundtree; and two 
brothers, James Edmond Thacker and Carl Gene Thacker.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 1995, at Johnson Funeral 
Home in Belding, the Rev. Kenneth Martin officiating.  Burial will be in the 
Restlawn Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be Monday March 27, 1995, from 2-4 
p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorials can be made to the American 
Lung Association.
