The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, September 8, 1942

Carl White, 57, died suddenly Monday morning, September 7, at 9:10 o’clock at 
his home at 310 Brown street.  He had been in ill health since November, 1941, 
and in February of this year, was a patient at the University of Michigan 
hospital in Ann Arbor.

For the past 21 years he had worked in the city water department of Ionia but 
had been unable to work since April 27, 1942.  He was born October 1, 1887 in 
Dupont, Ohio.

Surviving him are his wife, Ida; a daughter, Mrs. Luella Myers, of South 
Ionia; a son, Howard of Ionia; two step-sons, Harold and Virgil of Ionia; a 
sister, Mrs. Francis Regis, of Sheridan; one grandchild, Connie Sue.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon, September 10 at 2:30 o’clock 
from the Boynton funeral home.  Interment will be in Highland Park cemetery.
