Frank L. White, age 92, of Ionia, passed away Nov. 23, 2008.

He was born March 8, 1916 in Lyons, Twp. the son of Francis and Susan (Hopkins) 
White. Frank married Nancy Smith Oct. 20, 1950; she preceded him in death in 
1994. Frank married Joyce Vandervelde July 7, 1999. He was a veteran of the U. 
S. Army and a member of Ionia Moose Lodge. He was an avid golfer, and he loved 
hunting, fishing, bowling and horse shoes.

Frank is survived by his loving wife Joyce White Vandervelde of Ionia; sons, 
Frank (Pam) White of Nashville and David (Melinda) White of Grand Ledge; 
stepchildren, Carmen Hanratty of California, Marc (Irma) Vandervelde of 
Pinedale, Wy., Barry (Catherine) Vandervelde of Hudsonville, Raymond (Patricia) 
Vandervelde of Saranac and Allen (Sheila) Vandervelde of Camden, Ala.; brother, 
Lawrence White of Ionia; grandchildren, Debra Smith of Nashville, Jeremiah 
White of South Bend, and Kaitlyn White of Grand Ledge; 2 great-grandchildren, 
Ward Smith and Jazmyn Smith and several stepgrandchildren and step-
greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia 
with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. The family will receive friends and 
relatives Tuesday 4-7 p.m. and Wednesday 10 a.m. until time of service at the 
funeral home. Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions in Frank’s name to
