Melbert C. White, 77, of Fenwick, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2002, at United
Memorial Health Center, Greenville.  He was born Nov. 30, 1924, in Palo, the son
of John and Elizabeth Badder White.

Melbert attended Nazarene Church, Greenville.  He was a loving husband, father
and grandfather, who always had time for people.  He was called “Pa” by many
people.

On Jan. 20, 2001, he married Rosemary Miller.  She survives, along with their
children, Jo Ann and Patrick Riley of Kissimme, Fla., Duane and Linda White,
Darwin and Betty White, all of Greenville, Melbert and Pam White of Belding,
Alfred and Shelly White of Edmore, Dick and Marilyn Humphrey of Greenville,
Warren and Tina Wagner of Belding, Gordon and Terri Wagner of Greenville,
Kenneth and Deb Wagner of Louisville, Ky., Geraldine Wagner of Ionia, Teresa and
John Chenoweth of Lakeview, Marjorie and Dave Anderson of Ludington; 60
grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; two
sisters, Esther Clifford of Belding and Bernice Johnson of Fenwick.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Viola, in 1995; a daughter,
Carolyn, in 2001, a brother, Robert, in 1986; and two sisters, Bertha in 1977
and Anna Jeffery in 2002.

Funeral services for Melbert are 2 p.m. today at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral
Home, Belding, with Pastor John Barker officiating.  Interment will be in Rest
Haven Memorial Gardens.  Visitation is one hour prior to the service.  A
luncheon will follow the service at Nazarene Church on M-91, Greenville. 
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or a
charity of one’s choice.
