The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, March 5, 1984


Pirl L. White, 58, of Ionia died of an apparent heart attack Saturday morning 
in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.  He was born in Six Lakes Dec. 8, 1925, the son of 
Robert and Martha Braley White.  He attended schools in Six Lakes, was employed 
at Peschke Packing Co. in Ionia and began work at Fisher Body in 1948, retiring 
in 1979.  He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church and Ionia Moose Lodge.

He was married to Marie Blundy at SS. Peter and Paul Church in Ionia on June 
16, 1951, and they had made their home in Ionia since.

Surviving is his wife; three sons, James of Stanton and Dennis and Kenneth of 
Ionia; three daughters, Beverly at home; Mrs. William (Brenda) Masch of 
Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; and Bonnie of Stanton; 13 grandchildren; a brother, Sam 
White of Palo; and four sisters, Frances Varlieck of Six Lakes, Laura Randall 
of Ionia, Mary Smith of Florida and Bertha Bennett of Greenville; and his 
wife’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Blundy of Ionia.

Funeral mass will be Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Bolster 
officiating.  Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.  A scriptural rosary 
service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Leddick Funeral Home.  A memorial 
has been stablished for SS. Peter and Paul School, in care of the funeral 
home.  The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday and Wednesday, from 2 to 
4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
