Herbert White Dies Monday In Lansing
Herbert W. White, who died in Lansing Monday, was a former Portland resident, having
been raised in this village. He had lived in Lansing many years, and for more than
20 years was an appraiser in city assessor's office. He was 69 . The widow survives. She is
the former Edna R. Rowe of Portland. Funeral services were held Wednesday at a Lansing 
funeral home and burial was in Portland cemetery.

A one-time employe of Reo Motor Car company, Mr. White was affiliated with Plymouth
Congregational church, Men of Plymouth club, Capitol lodge No. 66, F. & A.M.,
Lansing Hi-12 club, Historical Society of Greater Lansing and Michigan Historical society, and
the American Legion.
