Death, which followed a brief illness, was due to strangulated hernia. Mr. White moved to Hubbardston seven years ago from Belding. Despite his advanced age, he was strong and hearty and took an active part in the management of his sons meat market until the week of his death. Born In Canada Born in Ontario, Canada, November 23, 1841, he was taken to Alton, Michigan at the age of five years, by his parents. The family later moved to Belding, where he resided until seven years ago. Mr. White was the oldest in a family of four children, all of whom have preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, William, three grandchildren, one great granddaughter, two nephews and four nieces. Funeral services took place from the residence Monday afternoon, with Rev. Ellis, of Belding, officiating. C.S. Langdon sang. Out of town relatives attending the funeral were Charles and Leeland Godfrey, of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Cora Gilman, Springport, Mrs. Ora Hall, Belding, Mrs. Claud Slater, Flint and Mrs. Zella Case of Davidson.
