"Stub" White, 64, of 215 Cliff Street, Muir, died Friday at Ionia County Memorial Hospital. Born Dec. 4, 1923, in Muir, he was the son of Robert and Mary Ellen Williams White. He attended Lyons High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On June 6, 1947, he was married to Ellen Oberlin in Ionia. They had made their home in Muir since their marriage. He was retired from Oldsmobile, Lansing, as a millwright, and had also been employed at Mitchell-Bentley Corporation in Ionia. He was a member of the Hubbardston American Legion Post, the Lyons-Muir VFW Post, and the Lyons Volunteer Fire department. Surviving are his wife, Ellen; two sons, Kirk of Grand Ledge and Chris of Muir; a daughter, Mrs.Jerry (Pam) Womboldt of Muir; five grandchildren; and a sister, Ellen Marshall of Muir. A brother, Frank White, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. from Muir First Christian Church. Military Hubbardston American Legion Post and the Lyons-Muir VFW Post. Burial will be in Muir Cemetery. A Memorial has been established for the Easter Seal Society, in care of Hull Memorial Chapel, Muir. Friends may call at the funeral home until noon Monday.
