Ionia Shopper's Guide-Sat. December 23, 2023

              WHITE

Robert George White, age 91, of Ionia, met the Lord Jesus Christ, his Savior, 
face to face on December 10, 2023, and was once again reunited with his wife and 
best friend, Dawn.

Bob was born on November 8, 1932, the son of Robert W. and Marguerite (Bemis) 
White.He grew up in South Ionia and attended Loomis school as a child. Bob 
attended Ionia High School where he played football, ran track, and enjoyed 
designing blueprints ind rafting class.He graduated high school with the class 
of 1950.

Bob was drafter in the U.S. Army & served on the front lines in Korea during the 
Korean War as a machine gunner in Special Forces.
While In the service, he played catcher on a championship softball team.
He was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1955.
Bob married Dawn Capron on March 31, 1956. They had 59 years together & raised 
two children.
Bob retired from Michigan Reformatory after 22 years.
Was a member ofAmerican Legion in Portland & the U.S.Trotting Association.
He started Bible Believers Grace Church in his home in 1993 & supported  the 
work for the rest of his life.
Survived by his children;David and Laurie (Perkin) White of Ionia & Doug and 
Diane(White) Warwick of Ankeny, Iowa;
His grandchildren Lucas & Harmony (Dean) Glashower of Lansing,Daniel & Cristy 
(Jarrett) White of Ionia, and James Dean of Ionia, plus great-grandchildren; 
Noah White, Hope Glashower & Samuel Glahower.
Preceded in death by his wife Dawn, brothers:Jerry White & Gary White; sister-
in-law, Joyce White, Shirley White & Virginia White,Niece; Marsha White & many 
of his family & friends.
Visitation at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia on Saturday Dec.16. 2023 at 1:00 PM.
with funeral services beginning at 2:00 PM.
Bob's son  Pastor David White will be officiating.
Interment will be for the immediate family directly after the funeral.
