The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, December 27, 1966
Mrs. Nellie L. White, 79, of 5242 Linwood, Detroit, died unexpectedly Sunday 
evening at her home.  She was born May 6, 1887 in Orange township and was the 
daughter of Fred and Phoebe Adgate Scheurer.  Mrs. White attended and taught 
in Ionia county schools before her marriage.  She had made her home in Detroit 
the past 50 years.

Surviving are a daughter, Marian White of Detroit, with whom she made her 
home; a brother, Bert Scheurer and a sister, Mrs. Paul Hausserman of rural 
Ionia.  Her husband and a son preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at LeValley Methodist church.  
She will lie in state from 1:30 until 2 p.m.  The body will be at Myers 
funeral home until the time of services.  Rev. Earle Stine will officiate with 
burial in Balcom cemetery.
