Dawn was born Nov. 14, 1935, in Lake Odessa, the only child of Harvey and Lorna (Weeks) Capron. She graduated from Ionia High School with the Class of 1953. Dawn married Robert G. White on March 31, 1956, at the First Methodist Church in Ionia. She trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior on Sept. 1, 1960. Dawn was the Secretary, Treasurer, and a member of the Bible Believers Grace Church of Pewamo. Dawn worked as a stenographer at a local attorney office in Ionia before becoming a secretary at Mitchell Bentley and afterwards General Tire. She later became a legal secretary with Welch, Watt and Nicols Law Firm in Ionia. after retirement, she was the secretary for several years at Temple Baptist Church of Ionia. Dawn loved her home and enjoyed keeping it spotless. She loved working puzzles, playing cards, reading, studying her Bible, and passing out gospel tracts. The most important parts of her life were her family and sharing her faith in Jesus Christ. Dawn touched many lives with her humor, wit and thoughtfulness and will be greatly missed by all. Dawn is survived by her husband, Robert George White; children, David (Laurie) White and Diane (Doug) Warwick; grandchildren, Harmony (Luke) Glashower, Daniel (Cristy) White and James Dean; great-grandchildren, Noah White, Zachary Frandsen, Gavin Binney, and Justin Jarrett; brother and sister-in-laws, Jerry (Joyce) White, Donald (Shirley) White, Virginia White, and many nieces and nephews. Dawn was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Gary White. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22, 10 a.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. Memorial Service will follow immediately at 11 a.m. with Pastor David White officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dawn’s honor can be made to the Bible Believers Grace Church of Pewamo.
