Ionia Sentinel Standard, 27 Mar 1981

Mary Rita White, 65, of Ionia, died Thursday afternoon at the Ionia County
Memorial Hospital.  She was born March 5, 1916 in Vermont to Alexander and
Nellie Humphrey McKee.  She lived in Kalamazoo as a youngster and later moved to
Ionia, where she graduated from SS Peter and Paul Academy.  She married Lyle M.
White March 4, 1940 and he preceded her in death June 28, 1979.

Mrs. White was active in the Ionia Little League and Softball League, where she
served many years as a scorekeeper.  She was a member of the SS Peter and Paul
Church.

Survivors include two sons, Lyle (Mike) of Saranac and Leroy of Ionia; and eight
grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. from SS Peter and Paul Church with
the Rev. Henry Dondzila officiating.  Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery.  A
scriptural wake service will be conducted Friday at 7 p.m. from the Leddick
Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends and relatives from 2 to 4
and 7 to 9 p.m.
