The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, November 1, 2005
Alice Jane White, age 81, of Ionia, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2005. 
She was born on February 2, 1924 in Bloomer Twp., Michigan the daughter of 
Emory and Retta (Hamilton) Mitchell. Mrs. White was a lifelong member of the 
Ionia Women of the Moose, and a member of the College of Regents. Alice 
enjoyed bingo and crossword puzzles. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard White; son, Gary 
White; grandson, Scott White; brothers, John and Robert Mitchell. Surviving 
are her daughter, Pat (John) Rios of Ionia; son, Robert (Susie) White of 
Trufant; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; half sister, Marjorie 
Burtthaw. 

The Funeral Service will be conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Harger, Pastor of 
Shiloh Community Church, at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at the 
Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, Ionia. Interment will follow 
at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Ionia. The family will receive friends at the 
funeral home from Noon until the time of the service on Wednesday. For those 
desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice, 
in memory of Mrs. Alice J. White.
