White, 32, died at his home 6237 Main Street, Saranac, of self inflicted gunshot wounds, about eleven, o'clock Monday night, October 19. He was born in Lyons, July 20, 1921, the son of Freda and Walter White. In 1923 the family moved to Saranac and he had lived in the village since that time. He graduated from Saranac High School with the Class of 1940, and in 1942, entered service in World War KK, and attained the rank of sergeant. He served on Okinawa during his years of service. For the past several years he had been employed by Saranac Metal Products Company. He was married to Marjorie Edlin of Easton, August 18, 1948, and for the past five years, they lived in-the home on Main Street, in the village. He was a member of the Leroy Dausman, Post, American Legion. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie, two sons, Douglas, 5, and Richard, two and a half years old; his mother, Mrs. Freda White, Saranac; his father, Walter White, Detroit; three sisters, Mrs. Claude Jackson and Mrs. Sherwood, Saranac; and Mrs. Earl Root of Jenison; three brothers, Robert of Detroit; Walter, Jr., Saranac, and Gordon, of Lansing. Rev. Glen McCarty will officiate at the funeral service which will be from the Saranac Community Church at 2:30, Thursday afternoon. Burial will be in Saranac cemetery.
