Whiting died at County house, at 5 p.m. Tuesday. His age was about 50, and he has been an inmate since August last. He took cold from a thorough drenching received while helping to rescue horses from a livery stable at Saranac, during the great flood of 1904 and consumption soon developed. He had no home nor means, and was sent to county house. He leaves no family except the son William E., in jail at Seattle, Wash., under sentence to be hanged in a little over a month. The father had no other family friends, whatever, so far as can be ascertained, and remains will be buried in the cemetery on the county farm.
