She has been sick for about a year with Bright’s disease of the kidneys, which was complicated with other troubles, and her death was no surprise to her friends as it has been realized for some time that there was no hopes of her recovery. The end came with considerable suddenness however when it did come, Mr. Whiting being down town on an errand and she was dead before he could return. She has endured great pain and suffering and although sorry to lose her presence, her friends realize that she is better off than living as she has for the past year. She was 44 years of age Monday. The funeral services will take place Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the home of her daughter, Mrs. LaVern Powers on Broas street, Rev. A. O. Carman, pastor of the M. E. church, officiating.
