Mrs. Joseph Whitman, of Bloomer Center, was found dead in the road Saturday 
evening. She was visiting at a neighbor's house in the evening, and up 
returning home was accompanied part way by Mrs. Lora Hayes, of this village.

Where found in the road by a passerby, was not more than four rods from where 
she and Mrs. Hayes had parted. Medical attendance pronounced death caused by 
apoplexy.

This community was shocked early Sunday morning by the news of the sudden death 
of Mrs. J. Whitman, of Bloomer, which occurred Saturday evening. The lady had 
been visiting a neighbor and was found not long after her departure for home, 
dead, but for a short distance from the house. The family have the sympathy of 
the community in tier sad affliction. The funeral was held in the Baptist 
church Wednesday at 2 pm. Interment in Palo cemetery
