WHITMORE, AMELIA (PETTIS) (MRS. GEORGE):   Portland Observer, 23 Nov 1922:  "The
death of Mrs. George Whitmore occurred Tuesday night, following several year’s
illness. Mrs. Whitmore came from St. Charles to Portland two years ago. Besides
the husband she is survived by three daughters. Funeral services will be held
from the residence, Friday forenoon at ten o’clock, in charge of Rev. Bancroft."
