WHITMORE, NELLIE (MRS. PETER):
   IONIA DAILY SENTINEL-STANDARD, MI, MAY 21, 1929, page 3:  "Word was received
here Saturday of the death of Mrs. Nellie Whitmore, mother of John and George
Whitmore, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leo Squires at Logan, Utah.  Mrs.
Whitmore was the widow of the late Peter Whitmore and came here a bride from
Brooklyn, N.Y., nearly 50 years ago and with her sweet and gentle manner won the
love and esteem of all her neighbors.  She was a member of the Episcopal church
and lived a quiet Christian life, ever kind and thoughtful of those around her.
 Besides the two sons she leaves one stepdaughter, Mrs. Charles Brooks, of
Woodard Lake and two daughters in Utah, where she has spent the past few years."
