Whitney, of Maple Rapids, died at the home of her brother, L. J. Clark, in Danby, last Thursday morning, after an illness with Bright’s disease. Funeral services were held at the home of L. J. Clark Friday morning, conducted by Rev. C. I. Taylor, of the Congregational church, and the body was taken to Maple Rapids for burial. Mrs. Whitney was born in New York state on Oct. 18, 1831, and came to Michigan with her parents when she was five years of age, making this state her home until her death. In 1850 she was married to Russell R. Whitney, who passed before her several years ago. Mrs. Whitney is survived by two children, who are: George Whitney, of Maple Rapids, and Mrs. Jennie Mosher, of St. Johns. She also leaves two brothers and one sister to mourn her demise, Lyman J. Clark, of Danby, Ira A. Clarke, of Mulliken, and Mary J. Crowley, of Danby.
