Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard - Fri. Feb. 21, 1941

Miss Lottie M. Whitney died Friday morning at the convalescent home on 
Lafayette street where she has been a patient since 1939. She was born in 
Ronald township the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Whitney, pioneers of Ionia 
county. She lived with her parents until their death and then for a time 
continued to live at the homestead with her sister Nellie. The home was 
destroyed by fire in 1938 and the sisters moved to Muir. In 1939 Nellie broke 
her hip and the two moved to the convalescent home. Nellie Whitney died in 
Ionia May 1, 1940. 

Surviving is one nephew, Ray H. Whitney of Binghampton, New York. Funeral 
arrangements have not been completed. The remains are at the Stone funeral home 
on East Washington Street.
