Lake Odessa Wave, 14 Apr 1926

The body of John Whitsell, aged employee of the Belding-Hemingway company, was 
found crushed between an elevator and the shaft in the silk mill No. 4 early this 
morning.  It is believed that Whitsell, a night watch man, suffered a stroke, 
fell, and was caught in the shaft.  The elevator power was on and the elevator 
burned and shaft scorched, but little damage was done to the building.
