Ionia Sentinel Standard, 7 May 1951

Mrs. Mary Whittaker, 82, died at 6:15 a.m. Sunday at 320 West Lincoln avenue 
where she had been cared for about 1 ½ years.

Mrs. Whittaker was born May 6, 1869 in Clinton county.  Formerly of Pewamo, she 
came to Ionia to make her home with her daughter when she was taken ill six 
years ago.

She was married in 1891 to William Whittaker who died in 1928.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Clara Klein and Mrs. Marion Ward of Ionia; 
one son, William, of Ionia; four grandchildren; three brothers, Matt Miller of 
Fowler, Tony Miller of Pewamo and Edward Miller of Newmann, Calif.; and three 
sisters, Mrs. Rose Miller of Fowler, Mrs. Anna Uhren of Grand Ledge and Mrs. 
Bertha Weitzel of Pewamo.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 8 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul 
church.  Interment will be Mt. Calvary cemetery, Pewamo.  Rosary will be said 
at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Myers funeral home.
