March 15, 1926 WELL-KNOWN EASTON WOMAN DIES AT HOME Mrs. Erin Whorley’s Death Entirely Unexpected, Saturday Night; funeral to Be Tuesday Ionia friends were shocked Sunday morning by the death of Mrs. Erin Whorley, which occurred at her home in Easton Saturday night at 11 o’clock, after only a few minutes of illness. Mrs. Whorley had seemed to be in good health when she retired. Members of her family heard her coughing and rushed to her room. A doctor was called but she passed away before he arrived. Death was due to heart trouble. Mrs. Whorley was 59 years of age. She was a member of Queen Esther chapter, order of Eastern Star, Ionic Shrine No. 41, order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Beatrice Rebekah lodge, and the W. R. C. Mrs. Whorley was also active at the Dildine church. Mrs. Whorley is survived by six children, Willis Whorley, Royce Whorley, Mrs. Marjorie Curtis, at home; Mrs. Gus Gott and Mrs. Herbert Ward, of Ionia, and Claude Whorley of near Portland. She is also survived by three brothers; Eugene Vohlers, of Ionia, Jay Vohlers, of Alabama, and L. Vohlers, of Ohio and two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Braman of Easton and Mrs. Pearl Wardsmah, of California. The funeral will be held from the Dildine church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Burial will be made in the Easton cemetery.
