Ionia Sentinel Standard, 14 Apr 1978

William C. Whorley, 93, formerly of 181 North Bellamy Road, died Thursday night
at the Ionia Manor.  He was born July 23, 1884 in Sebewa township, the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Oscar E. Whorley.

He married the former Ida M. Crosthwaite in 1908 and she preceded him in death
October 16, 1952.  One son, Carlton also preceded him in death.

Mr. Whorley operated a meat market in Ionia and was a meat cutter most of his
life.  He was a former member of the Antique Arms club.

Survivors include two sons, Art and Hubert of Ionia; several cousins; eight
grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Services are Monday at 1:30 p.m. from the Myers-Roetman funeral home with burial
in Easton cemetery.  The family will receive friends and relatives at the
funeral home Saturday 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 4 p.m.
