July 16, 2016 JUDITH MAY WHORLEY 1943-2016 Judith May Whorley, age 73, of Saranac, passed away July 6, 2016. She was born Jan. 29, 1943, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Johannes and Virginia (VanderWood) Molter. Judy married James Whorley on Nov. 17, 1984 in Lowell, Michigan. She worked at the Ionia Hospital as an OB nurse for many years. Judy loved to sew, make quilts and watch movies. Judy is survived by her husband, James Whorley of Saranac; children, Todd Stearns of Grand Rapids, Roxanne Rader of Saranac, Robin Stearns of Holland; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Richard (Anne) Molter of Grand Rapids; sisters, Linda (John) Schippers of Indiana, Debbie (Cycle) Mumby of Sheridan; and brother-in-law, Craig Strick of Grand Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Robert, Russell and Thadeus; and sister, Karen Strick. A burial of ashes will be held at Easton Cemetery at 11:30 Am, July 30 with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. A celebration of life will be celebrated immediately following at Easton United Methodist Church from 12 PM to 2 PM. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to American cancer Society of Faith Hospice.
