WILLIAM "BILL" CARLTON WHORLEY

Died Friday,March 13, 2026-age 84 of Saranac, MI.
Born April 28, 1941 in Ionia County, son of Carlton & Julia (Cassel) Whorley.
He married Karen Schmidt August 29, 1964 in Detroit, together they raised 3 
sons. 
Bill owned & operated Bill's Barber shop in Saranac for 40 years & cut hair for 
another 10 years in Florida. 
Bill was a member of Easton United Methodist Church, past member of Saranac 
Lions Club, member & past president of the Ionia Fishing & Hunting Club & T.P.A.
He taught hunter's safety for several years.
Surviving are his wife, Karen Whorley of Saranac, Son's Michael (Nichole) 
Whorley of Saranac & Mark (Laurie) Whorley of Muskego, Wisc., daughter-in-law, 
Cara Whorley of Grand Rapids,Grandchildren, Cenni Becher & fiancee Aaron 
Wilson,Michael Wm. (Chelei)Whorley & financee Nick Gillespie, Cody Childres & 
Jace Childres. Great=-grandchildren, Alizah Gillespie, Amelia Gillespie, Raidon 
Becher, Bryson Becher, Grayson Wilson,Brandon Wilson, Cody Childers Jr., Athena 
Childers & Carter Cross, Brother James Whorley of Saranac & brother-in-law 
Timothy Guarino.
Preceded in death by his parents, son Patrick in 2018 & sister-in-law Patricia 
Guarino.
Cremation has taken place & there will be a Celebration of Life at the Ionia 
Fishing & Hunting Club in Saranac, on Saturday, March 28 from 1-4 p.m.
Those wishing to make a memorial donation  to the Ionia Fishing & Hunting Club, 
or plant a tree in Bill's memory; sent to Lake Funeral Home, Saranac.
