Tonya Sue Wickerink, 31, of Ionia went to be with her Lord on Aug. 9, 2001 
after an extended illness.  Tonya was born June 5, 1970, the daughter of 
Dennis and Jane Wickerink.  She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic 
Church of Ionia and graduated from Ionia High School in 1988.

Tony is survived by her mother and step-father Jane and Jerry Emelander; her 
father and step-mother, Dennis and Jeanne Wickerink both of Ionia; brother and 
sister-in-law, Chad and Sheryl Wickerink; special nieces, Stacy Wickerink and 
Laura Condon; grandmother, Gertrude Werner; godmother, Kay Conner; godfather, 
Steve Wohlscheid; step-siblings, Kim (Scott) Mailand; children, Kip (Trina) 
Emelander and Ryan Flinn; several uncles, aunts and cousins; and special 
friends, Polly Misner and Mark O’Conner.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Louis Werner; grandparents, Don 
and Leta Wickerink; step-brother and friend, Ronnie Flinn.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic 
Church with Rev. Melvin Fox officiating.  Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  The 
family will receive friends and relatives from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday 
and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Lake Funeral Home 
in Ionia.  Rosary will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday.  Anyone wishing may make 
contributions for a family choice.
