Wickerink, 70, of 836 Prospect Street, Ionia, died early Monday at Ionia County Memorial Hospital. Born April 19, 1915, in Holland, he was the son of Henry and Cora Roe Wickerink. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Rhineland and Central Europe with the U.S. Army. He was member of the Sheridan VFW post. He was employed at Waterloo Prison Camp and Michigan Reformatory and later by the Ionia Post Office, retiring in 1975. He was married May 31, 1942, in Portland to Leta Wilcox, she survives. Also surviving are three sons, Dennis, Dan and Larry, all of Ionia, two daughters, Lisa Loucks and Lee Ann Henry, also of Ionia; and 12 grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Roetman Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kay Williams of Zion United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials have been established for the Cardiac Care Unit of Ionia County Memorial Hospital and the Michigan Heart Association.
