Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Thurs. Sept. 9, 1982

CARO- Dorothy M. Wicks, 73, of Caro, a former teacher in the Ionia area, died 
early Tuesday morning in Caro Community Hospital.

She was born March 29, 1909, in Pewamo, the daughter of Caleb and Lydia Wicks.  
She attended rural schools in Clinton County and graduated from Hubbardston 
High School in 1927, and from Ionia County Normal in 1930, and received her 
bachelor’s degree from central Michigan University in 1951.

After teaching in the Ionia area, she taught four years in Gladwin and moved to 
Caro in 1951 where she taught second grade for 22 years before her retirement 
in 1973.

Surviving are a brother, Andy H. Wicks of California, a nephew, two nieces, and 
3 grandnephews, all of California.
