Lake Odessa Wave - July 27, 1978
          SERVICES FOR MYRTLE WICKS
   Myrtle E. Wicks, age 74, or 1110 Lakeview Dr., Lake Odessa passed away Tuesday
morning at Blodgett 
Hospital where she was a patient for one week.  She was born September 7, 1903 in
Sebewa, the daughter of 
Charles and Isabella (Koutz) Kauffman and attended Johnson School in Sebewa.  She
married Richard Bartlett 
March 4, 1925 in Lake Odessa and was then married to Louis Randall for 7 years.  He
preceded her in death in 
1960.  On April 1, 1961 she married Erving Wicks.
   Mrs. Wicks was a life long resident of the Lake Odessa area and a member of the
Central United Methodist 
church of Lake Odessa, United Methodist Women, and Rebecca Lodge #285, Order of the
Eastern Star 161 of 
Milliken, Merry Social Club.
   Surviving are her husband, Erving; 1 son, Orvin Bartlett of Mulliken; 1 step
daughter, Mrs. Patricia Jack of 
Lake Odessa; 2 sisters, Mrs. Alice Archer of Lake Odessa and Mrs. Thelma  Pew of
Lansing; 4 grandchildren; 
5 step grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; several
nieces and nephews.
   Mrs. Wicks reposes at the Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa where
funeral services will be held 
Thursday (today) at 1:30 p.m.. Rev. Gary Evans officiating with interment at
Lakeside cemetery.
