Mrs. Loid Wicks of Peck’s Hill Died Monday Night. Ellen C. beloved wife of Loid Wicks and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Hall of Marion township, Livingston county, Mich., died at her home on Peck’s hill in this city, Monday evening, Aug.31, after a long illness, aged 36 years, 11 months and 7 days. Of a pleasant and cheerful disposition, Mrs. Wicks won her way into the hearts of all who knew her, and during her residence of about a year in this city, has made many friends who regret to learn of her demise. After a short service at the house Wednesday the remains will be taken to her girlhood home in Marion where services will be conducted and interment in the Lake cemetery. Mrs. Wicks was a beneficial member of the Knights of the Loyal Guard and carried an insurance of $500. An autopsy was held Tuesday by Dr. E.W. Litle and Dr. Fuller which revealed the cause of death to be Exophthalmic goiter, from which she had been a great sufferer for several months. Mr. Wicks and H.H. Hall and wife left Wednesday for Howell with the remains. A large delegation of kind neighbors and friends from Peck’s hill came to the depot to show by their acts their sympathy to the bereaved husband, father and mother of the deceased.
