Wicks, 68, who died at his Matherton home November 22. The Rev. Park Newcombe officiated, and bearers were six nephews, Joy, Cecil, Robert and Virgil Tait, Donald Messer and Harold Berry. Burial was in East Plains cemetery. Mr. Wicks was the son of Simeon and Catherine Wicks and was born July 14, 1878, in Dallas township, Clinton county. September 9, 1907, he was united in marriage with Lydia Messer Allor. Most of his life was spent in Clinton county. In 1944, because of ill health, he moved to Matherton. H e was stricken with paralysis July 16, 1946, leaving him bedfast until he suffered other strokes which caused his death. He is survived by his wife, Lydia; two children, Dorothy of Ionia, and Andy of Lebanon; two grandchildren, Harold and Pamela Wicks; and a sister, Frances Gee, of Portland.
