Mary was one of eight children of Anna Esch and Anthony Simon of the Westphalia/Portland area. Mary was a very loving mother and enjoyed spending time with her family. After retirement from General Motors, she loved traveling, including Europe and South America. Mary had a strong faith and an independent spirit. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin in 1951. She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Donald (Mary Jane), Dale (Betty), Tony (Linda) and Linda Wieber-Koelzer (Phil). She has 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass was held March 16, at St. Casimir Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Bill Lugger as celebrant. Interment took place in Portland Cemetery.
