She was born Dec. 19, 1938, to Leola Freguson Wieczorek and Harold Wieczorek. She has two younger sisters, Nancy Arens and Jacqueline (Jackie) Spencer. Janet loved her family. She was stricken with rheumatic fever from March 1952 to March 1953 at the age of 14 years old. Later in years she struggled with mental illness. She lived in Ionia, Michigan, up to her last eight years of life which she moved to Gibbs Adult Foster Care Home in Hubbardston, Michigan. She loved playing bingo, scratching off lottery tickets, and reading the local Ionia paper. She had lots of good luck. She had her dog Tippy, who lived with Danny and Nancy, who she loved to get visits from. Janet is survived by two sisters, Nancy and Danny Arens of Sheridan; nephew Lonnie and Melissa Arens and family, Todd and Kelly Arens and family, Jacqueline (Jackie) and Gerald Spencer of Lowell; nephew Jason and Laura Spencer and family; niece Jessica and Josh Olson and family; nephews Josh Spencer and Jared Spencer; aunt Ginny Ferguson, aunt Joyce Loughen, and aunt Joann Wieczorek; and many cousins and one special cousin Mary Patrick Collins. Funeral services for Janet will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015, at the Barden Funeral Home in Stanton with Father Dominic Tirkey officiating. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, at the funeral home.
