He had been in ill health for over a year. Born March 18, 1860, he was the son of Thomas Jefferson and Betsy Ann Wiggins of Newaygo county. September 9, 1879 he was married to Mary Ann Van Wormer, who preceded him in death June 7, 1936. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. James Coon, of Lake City and four sons, Tom Wiggins of Lake City, Myron Wiggins of Marion, Oral Wiggins of Greenville and Charles Wiggins of Ionia; also several grandchildren and great grandchildren. His grandson, Pfc. Douglas R. Wiggins, was killed in action in New Guinea on December 24, according to word received by his parents from the United States war department. The body was taken to the Myers funeral home, and on Tuesday afternoon will be taken to Lakeview where services will be held Wednesday. Burial will be in Maple Hill cemetery, Cadillac.
