The Portland Observer, Thursday, November 26, 1925

Mrs. Gardner Wight, 71, wife of a Lake Odessa fur dealer, was instantly killed 
Sunday afternoon at about five o’clock when she was struck by a westbound Pere 
Marquette train.  Mrs. Wight was returning in a blinding snowstorm to her home 
from the business section of the village when she was struck.  The body was 
hurled several yards by the impact of the engine and was discovered a few 
minutes after the accident occurred by R. A. Whittemore of Lake Odessa.

Mrs. Wight is survived only by her husband.
