She was born on February 29, 1960 the daughter of Alphonse and Marie (Platte) Thelen. Judy was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Fufilling a dream, she became a Registered Nurse. She enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time outdoors. She also enjoyed watching hummingbirds and loved her Bassett Hound, Maggie. Judy was a courageous, strong person as a life teacher and a role model. You were truely blessed to know her and she touched many of the people she met. Her positive attitude was contagious and she lived her life to the fullest. Judy was proud of her family and loved them deeply. Her extended family meant a great deal to her as well. She was a very selfless, generous and giving person. Judy is preceded in death by brother, Mark Thelen, and father-in-law, Ralph Wight. Surviving are her husband and best friend of 24 and a half years, Ralph; children, Zack (Julie Schafer) and Hannah; parents, Dick (Marie) Thelen; brothers, Brian (Mary Ann) Thelen, Dan (Kathy) Thelen, Kevin (Lori) Thelen, Darryl (Dinean) Thelen and Andy Thelen; sister, Lori (Chris) Conner; mother-in-law, Mildred Wight; brother-in-law, Gary (Marie) Wight; sisters-in- law, Linda (Dale) Bower, Nancy (Jerry) Lyon and Noreen (Doug) Logel; exceptional friends, Bev Martin and Fern Martin and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Larry King at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. on Friday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m., Friday.
