Clarence W. Wilbur, 67, of South Ionia died suddenly at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at 
his home after being in ailing health for some time.  Although he was employed 
by the Ionia County Road Commission at the time of his death, he had not been 
able to work since February. 

He was born near Gaylord and had worked at the county road commission since 
1941.  For three or four years prior to that, he worked at Vincent’s 
greenhouse.

Surviving are the wife, Lennie; two daughters, Mrs. Cruea Ritchie of Muir and 
Delores Hyland of Portland; a son, John of Ionia; nine grandchildren, six 
brother and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday from the Muir Church of 
Christ with Dr. Paul Stewart officiating.  Interment will be in Muir 
cemetery.  His body will lie in state at the Bradley funeral home all day 
Thursday and Friday until 1 p.m. when he will be removed to the church.
