VanPatten, on Friday, October 2, 1903, John D. Wilcox, aged 84 years. Mr. Wilcox was born in Tully, New York, March 22, 1819, and spent a greater portion of his life on the farm. He came to Lyons five years ago and has made his home since then with his sister Mrs. B. R. VanPatten, where he has received the best of care. Deceased suffered a stroke of apoplexy on Tuesday while husking corn, which resulted in his death the following Friday. The funeral was held Sunday from the home, being conducted by Rev. H.E. Wylie, assisted by a quartette composed of Messrs. Balch and Hale and Mesdames Bradt and Hawley. Interment in the Lyons cemetery.
