Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Eagle M. E. church, in charge of Rev. Frank Loomis, a former pastor. Burial was made in Danby cemetery. Mrs. Wilcox’ maiden name was Laura Davenport and when a young woman she was married to Jay Martin. Some time after the death of Mr. Martin she was united in marriage to James Wilcox, who lost his life in 1915 when a team of horses he was driving became frightened and threw him from the wagon while on his was from Portland to his home in Danby, the accident occurring near the eastern limits of the village. Since the death of her second husband, Mrs. Wilcox had resided alone on her farm in Danby, just across the road from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Wilcox. Besides the daughter one brother, George Davenport, of Frost’s corners survives.
