L. Wilcox died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Albert Gemuend Wednesday afternoon after several months of illness of asthma which ended in bronchial pneumonia and death. The funeral services will be held from the home of Mrs. Wilcox in South Ionia Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock. The interment will be in the Balcom cemetery. Mrs. Wilcox was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Phelps, who lived on the State road at the time of her birth, June 29, 1883. Her mother, Mrs. Katherine Dakin, who remarried after the death of her first husband, died about two months ago. Her marriage to Mr. Wilcox took place May 25, 1905, and they have lived in Grand Rapids and Columbus, O., and the last 12 years in Ionia. She was a member of the order of the Ladies of the Maccabees and the Methodist Episcopal church, affiliating with the latter at Columbus, O. Besides her husband and her sister, she leaves the following brothers: Verne A. Phelps, Brockton, Mass.; Carl Phelps, of Saginaw; Clifford Phelps, of Lansing, and Lee Phelps, of Ionia.
