Ionia Standard – Friday, 30 September 1892

Mrs. David Wilder, better and familiarly known as “Aunt Sally,” died Wednesday 
morning at the home of her son, Thos. Wilder, after about ten days illness, 
aged 81 years.  Funeral will be held today at the M.E. church.  Aunt Sally was 
a dear old soul, loved by everybody.  If anyone was sick she would be the 
first to respond and do all she could, which was much, to relieve and 
comfort.  To say she will be missed will but feebly express the loss to this 
whole community.  Her husband died seventeen years ago, since which time she 
has made her home mostly with the son, where she died.  Her children are 
Thomas and William, of Ionia, and Mrs. F. J. Freeman, all of whom were present 
at the time of her death.
