Wilder, 87, of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and wife of the late Robert for 48 years, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015. Charlotte grew up in Manchester, New Hampshire. She was born there April 10, 1927 to the late Edward and Esther Metz. She was a bright young woman with an amazing drive and ambition for her time. She attended college at Skidmore in Saratoga Springs, New York and later received her Master's in Industrial Psychology from Michigan State University. She had an ability to recognize talent in others and used those skills in her career working in Human Relations as personnel manager at Macy's in New York City. She met the love of her life, Robert Wilder while living in New York City. He was working for Chase Manhattan Bank at that time. With work leading her husband to Michigan in the 1950's, they settled in Royal Oak. They also spent time in Clawson, before moving to Birmingham where they resided for over 20 years. Following Robert's retirement, she and Robert retired to Knoxville, Tennessee in 1987. She remained in Knoxville after her husband's death in 1999 and moved back to Michigan in 2012. She was always giving of herself to others. She was very involved in the American Association of University Women where she served as president of the Royal Oak chapter for two years. She was active in the AAUW's book sale for many years. Her children will always remember helping her haul books from donor's homes to the book sale location. Locally, she helped out at the Birmingham Community House finding summer jobs for local youths. While living in Knoxville, she volunteered at the University of Tennessee Hospital and was president of the volunteer auxiliary She was very proud of her loving family including her grandson, Marty, whom she adored. She will be greatly missed from not only her family but from many loving friends everywhere she went. Charlotte is survived by her two children, Charles of Knoxville, Tennessee and Douglas (Carmela) of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She is the proud grandmother of Marty. Dear sister of the late Sylvia Milden and beloved aunt of Carol Harwood (Jack) and Alan Milden. Family will receive friends on Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 1:00pm until the time of service at 4:00pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel) 32515 Woodward Ave. (between 13-14 Mile).
