Pew was born in New York City December 18, 1838 and passed away at the home of her son, April 1, 1920, aged 81 years, 8 months and 13 days. When four years of age she came with her parents to Michigan locating in Lenawee county where they remained until 1848. They then moved to Ronald, settling one mile east of Palo. In 1865 she was united in marriage to Nelson Wilder. To this union two sons were born, Charles F. of Palo and Walter C., who died on February 29, 1904. In 1870 Mr. and Mrs. Wilder built the home on Church street where they lived until six years ago when owing to failing health they gave up the home and have since resided with their son, Charles. Besides her husband she is survived by one brother, Henry D. Pew, her son Charles F. and grandson Fred C. of Cleveland, Ohio and several nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. Mrs. Nelson Wilder, after a brief illness, passed away at the home of her son, Charles Wilder, Wednesday night. The funeral services were held from the house Sunday afternoon. Those from away who attended the service were Mr. Fred C. Wilder or Cleveland, Ohio, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wortman and son, Miss Bernice Wortman and Mrs. Chas. Wortman, all of Ionia.
