Young Man Taken in Prime of Life – Died Sunday Afternoon at Home of His Father. Arthur Wiley passed away Sunday afternoon about 3 o’clock at the residence of his father surrounded by the sorrowing family who watched the young life go peacefully out. He had made a brave struggle for life for ten long weary weeks and at times was hopeful of recovery. Arthur would have been 18 years old had he lived until Sept. 1st. Ten weeks ago he was taken very sick with appendicitis and for a number of days his life hung in the balance, but his physician Dr. Litle succeeded in relieving him of that trouble when other complications set in and his death was caused from abscesses of the liver. It was a singular coincidence that he died just ten weeks to the day and hour from the time when he was taken sick. For nearly a year past he had worked in Lincoln’s store and was much liked for his gentlemanly qualities and business tact. The funeral services were held at the residence Wednesday afternoon, Rev. J.E. Butler conducting them. Many beautiful floral offerings were brought in by the friends of the deceased and family. His remains were taken to Naples, N.Y. to be interred by the side of his mother who died 15 years ago. His father accompanied them.
