Gerald G. Wilkie, who died at his home, 518 West Main Street, Monday morning, May 14, after a lengthy illness, were conducted Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the Zion Evangelical United Brethren church. The Rev. W. C. Basset, district superintendent of Kalamazoo officiated with the Rev. Heath Goodwin attending, representing the Ionia Ministerial Association, the Rev. M. W. Klump, Rev. S. H. Forkner presiding and the Rev. O. G. Knechtel sang two solos. Honorary bearers were members of the Ionia Ministerial association, including the Rev. W. W. Pixley, the Rev. Fr. Roger Bunday, the Rev. J. L. Ward, the Rev. Eric Cash, the Rev. Heath Goodwin and the Rev. Elder J. Bolejack. Active bearers were the Rev. Allen Lewis, the Rev. Lloyd Hansen, the Rev. Lloyd Walker, the Rev. Ronald Carter, the Rev. James Lange and the Rev. Walter Ladley. Attending were 126 ministers and their wives from the Evangelical Conference of Michigan, who were seated in a body. Mrs. Orrin Schmidt was organist. Relatives attending from out of town were Mrs. Conrad Wilkie, Mr. and Mrs. Clare McDurmon, Khristine and Roxanna. Caro: Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kight, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kight and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Roth, Owosso: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hayes, Fenton: Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Reynolds, Mr. and Mrs. Wall Frohm, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Goodrich and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Katz of Battle Creek and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Vernier, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Vernier, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Vernier and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Wages, Niles. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kring of Inkster; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kring of Milan, Homer Kring of Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Hettler of Fort Wayne, Ind., and many other friends and relatives. Interment was in Saranac Cemetery, with arrangements by the Boynton funeral home.
